The past year witnessed several big achievements for the IDCM which has become a half-a-decade old and a well-established scientific medium. The Journal has been indexed in the Web of Science Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) since the very first issue in 2019. On the other hand, our statistics have substantially improved. During 2023 the number of original articles increased among other types of manuscripts, being 10% more as compared to 2022. Our rejection rate rose from 39% to 52%. “Desk rejection rate” which is the rapid rejection by the editors without sending the submitted paper to reviewers has increased significantly, 33% compared to 8% in 2022.  We continue to improve our publication times which is around 90 days from the time of submission to appearing in the Journal. An audio abstract for some of the articles has become available and we will implement this for all future articles.

The Journal undoubtedly owes its growing success to our colleagues on the Editorial Board and our reviewers whose names can be found on the list on the back pages of this issue. We greatly appreciate their amazing work.

And please bear in mind that publishing in IDCM is absolutely free without paying any fees.

With all my best wishes for a happy and peaceful 2024…
